24 Hour Painting Challenge – A chance to get involved!

I have been thinking about this for a couple of weeks now and thought I would post it up in its preliminary form to get some feedback.

I am going to complete a 24 hour painting challenge – and I want you to join me!

Paint Brushes

The goal is to pledge a 500 point force (minimum – go bigger if you want!) and then build and paint it in a 24 hour continuous period.

For me – I get the most painting done when I have a deadline and have a little pressure placed on me. This typically comes when a tournament looms but right now I am planning (and running) more events than I think I will be attending in the foreseeable future. This means I need other motivations and I think this fits the bill nicely!

So how can you get involved? Easy! You can reply to this post here on my blog, send me an email or get in touch via facebook or twitter and let me know you want to pledge a force for the challenge. Ideally you should include photos of the force prior to paint being applied and then as you paint, grab the odd photo as well as the obvious completed miniatures after 24 hours. To be clear, the goal is to get stuff painted. If its already assembled that’s ok! We want to make a dent in those projects we all have at home and share the support and success with each other! Get a group together at someone’s house and make a day (and night!) of it! You could even get a game or 2 in as the paints dry on models!

At this stage I am planning to hold the challenge on a Saturday starting at 9am and going through till 9am the next day. If all goes to plan at home, it will happen by the end of the month and I will post an update confirming when I am planning to run my challenge. If I get enough interest, I might even throw out a small prize or two for people who get involved.

So what do you think? Do you have an event coming up you need to get ready for? What about the pile of box sets you got that time really cheap? Keen to get it painted?
