ObSec Founders – the Bio’s

Here you will find the Bio’s for Mike and Emma, the founders of Objective Secured. Their combined skills and experience have made Obsec what it is today.

Mike

Michael (or Mike more commonly) is known locally and internationally as Massaen on the various gaming forums, podcasts and in the gaming community. Mike has more than two decades of experience playing table top game systems both in competitive event environments and as a hobby playing ‘friendly’ games with mates as a teenager and adult, freezing their tails off gaming in garages and under patios and anywhere mums, then later wives and girlfriends, would let them game.

Mike previously co-hosted the Worlds End Radio podcast, hosts the Objective Secured podcast and continues to run numerous events for the local community across the year in Perth Western Australia via Objective Secured.

While Mike plays more than a few gaming systems at times throughout the year, there are three main systems that see table time and event attendance (and wins) and there is one system that gets by far the most amount of games (and trophies) – Warhammer 40,000.

Mike has attended numerous tournaments over the years of playing local, national and international events. Mike has captained the Western Australian team for the Australasian 40k Team Challenge 3 years in a row (2014, 2015, 2016) and in 2012 he travelled to Poland representing Australia in the European 40k Team Challenge. He has play tested a game systems first edition of production (Malifaux) and was heavily, and officially, involved in championing that game system when it was released into the Western Australian market.

Mike was also a winner of the Warhammer Heroes award for 2019.

After more than 15 years in the field of advertising, marketing and event planning and 13 years of voluntary table top club and event planning Mike co-founded Objective Secured bringing together his passion for table top games with his skills in event planning and management to create Western Australia’s premier gaming event business.

Emma

Emma’s 13 year career as CEO of a non-profit organisation as her organisational involvement in the gaming community has focused on the positive effect of community and social connections on social, emotional and mental health.

Emma was also a winner of the Warhammer Heroes award for 2019.
