Episode 19: Days of Future Past
In the dark days of the late 1980’s… there was only war on a farm… wait what?
In this episode, Mike and Emma are joined by long time close friend Tim, to discuss the game of Warhammer 40,000 across the editions. Indeed, the reason you are listening to a podcast from us at all can all be laid at the feet of Tim who as a youngster in his early teens, corrupted Mike into the cult of Warhammer!
We discuss the editions of the now 30 year old game, starting with Rogue Trader then after many tangents, into second and third editions. What’s more, we recorded so much content that even after editing we have nearly 3 hours of content for you! Rather than have you listen to that in one giant lump, we have split it up across 2 episodes. The anecdotes fly thick and fast – keep an ear out for the reference to this next image!
We look at just how the game has changed, talk shop about the many and varied improvements and changes the game has seen in these first years of publication and generally take a stroll down memory lane – it’s a long walk of 25+ years but one we really enjoyed recording!
Did you play the early days of Warhammer 40,000? Which edition is the one that you still tell war stories from? Did you ever make a deodorant attack craft? Did you ever paint a land raider in checks and put bunting on it?(!!??) Tell us your stories – we want to hear from you!
