Episode 23: Great Expectations Part 2
Like a few of our recent episodes, this is part 2 of a lengthy conversation between Emma and Mike. In this part, we talk responsibilities… the responsibilities of you the gamer and event attendee and just what you have in the way of responsibilities when you attend an Objective Secured event. We have been working on the Bill of rights for some time and this marks the first real update of that document to cover and clarify some of the murky areas of our favorite game at events – though more from a behaviour and social side than anything in game.
Given some of the controversy of other major events around the world of late, this felt like a good time to talk about just what you can and should expect from an event and how all the pieces fit together. We cover what the current bill of rights has to say on the matter and talk about the potential ‘Floor Rules’ for attending an event with Obsec. This episode is another doozy with a couple of hours content so episode 22 will cover you for your rights as an attendee and will certainly help with context for this episode!
A special shout out to the Ladies who attended our Mixed Doubles 2018 event on the 28th July as well as the winners of the event – you can find more about the event in a separate post.
How do you define sportsmanship? Do you agree with our sentiments on the matter or perhaps you are more elegant in your description! Do you feel any of the rights we listed are off the mark or perhaps we missed something you feel is key to you having a good time? Why not tell us your stories – we want to hear from you!
