Episode 34: That’s how its done
Or at least – that’s how its done by us! After a live stream on our facebook page got out of hand (we found our soap boxes and went for it!) we took on board our viewers feedback and decided to talk more in depth about the planning that goes into our events. Mike and Emma look at the initial parts of planning their tournaments and events – picking a date, finding a venue and looking at some of the logistical challenges that a TO (tournament organiser) should consider when planning an event.
We chat about Cancon 40k 2019 which wrapped up over the Australia Day long weekend – with a special shout out to Erik from Queensland who took the event out going 8 wins and no losses, the only undefeated player at the event with Tyranids! Congratulations to all the winners of the various categories and well done to Chris and the organisers for what looked to be a great weekend of 40k.
The nefarious genestealer cults have also started spreading propaganda for their imminent release with some stunning new miniatures released alongside it. This was alongside a new female commissar model for the Astra Militarum and without getting to deep into it here – there is a longer than usual first segment when we deep dive and compare the newest female models in the 40k range with a few older ones.
Do you have any event specifics you would like us to cover? Are you veteran TO and have the initial planning down pat? Did we miss something critical in this first section of the planning? We would love to hear about your experiences – we want to hear from you! You can also check out an earlier episode about some of our other experiences here.
