Episode 37: Smokin’ Aces – 40k Assassins
Mike and Emma don their synskins (sorry for that visual!) and delve into the shadowy clades of the Imperial Assassins – the new Index Imperialis in March 2019 White Dwarf is a super update to these cold blooded killers and it was too good an opportunity to waste.
We delve into the new Index and deep dive just what makes the assassins tick in their latest incarnation. The lethal sniper that is the Vindicare will be a firm player favourite thanks to his cool value but is he cool enough for you to take to a tournament? The Eversor is a butcher and blender in one and his lethality up close to enemy units is at the high end of any character in the game but is he good enough to overlook the others? The ultimate in infiltration (even managing it in a genestealer cult!) is the Callidus, Mikes personal pick and sleeper choice of the 4 deadly killers. The Calexus, psychic blank and abomination has seen his time in the sun, edition after edition, but is that time now past and do the other choices give you more options?
