Episode 86: Are you not entertained?
The Perth GT – Masters 2020 has come and gone and boy what a ride it was. Entertained is the word for it! We streamed 7 games (with mixed levels of success) to our YouTube channel so if you are interested in watching them you can do so HERE.
We talk some stats for the event, discuss some of the learnings as organisers and get off topic talking about what some of the future events might look like. You can find the article Mike wrote just after the event HERE. You can also check out the goonhammer article about the winning lists HERE.
It wouldn’t be a Masters without Games Workshop dropping a new codex or FAQ on the eve of list submission and this event is no different with a massive update to missions, factions and most importantly – points values. Its always nice to be a guinea pig for these sorts of changes while the whole world watches on!
There is plenty of new as well – we got an online preview called Dead and the Divine and a day later we got the preview for the Dark Angels Supplement and a host of other models. We also got an article talking first turn advantage with stats just prior to the new FAQ showing a decline in the first turn advantage (its still there) but with the new changes to scoring in the final turn, going second is making a comeback in our experience! A special shout out to David Annandale and his new Warhammer Horror novel as well – check out the interview with him and the Warhammer community HERE. Lots to keep you entertained!
While Western Australia is all but returned to normal – except of course the most recent 5 day lock down! – we want to make sure you are all looking after yourselves during this trying quarantine period – if you need help from more than your present support network (and are in Western Australia) you can contact Beyond Blue (1300 22 46 36), Life line (131 114) or Crisis Care (089223 1111). If you are outside of Western Australia we really encourage you checking out your local provider of mental health via your preferred search engine.
What are you most looking forward to from the Dead and the Divine preview? Did you attend the Perth GT this year and if so how did you do? We would love to hear about your experiences and hear your feedback on this – we want to hear from you!
