Ok…I did something crazy…I’ve submitted a 30k Mechanicum list for a tournament…with only having around 800pts painted!
Why did I do this?
Well, I suppose it’s because sleep is for the weak…right? Joking aside, I love tournaments and this will make me finally finish my Heresy Mechanicum army seeing as the event is on the 14th of November. Plus I’ve been procrastinating for a few weeks while I finished some terrain works and finalizing my Western Australian Masters list.
Outpost 6030 Are running two parallel events on the same day. 40k with Community Comp restrictions on one side and a 30k Heresy event on the other
So, I thought why not take the plunge, what could possibly go wrong…it’s not like I’ve never a game of Heresy before…or actually put a Mechanicum army on the table…
The list
Legio Cybernetica
HQ – Archmagos Dominus (Photon Gauntlet, Graviton Gun, Abeyant) – 200
Troops – Thallax Battle Automata (x4) – 175
Troops – Thallax Battle Automata (x4) – 175
Troops – Castellax Battle Automata (x2) (x2 Darkfire Cannons) – 250
Troops – Castellax Battle Automata (x2) – 210
Fast Attack – Vorax Battle Automata (x2) – 130
Fast Attack – Vorax Battle Automata (x1) (x1 Irad-cleanser) – 75
Heavy Support – Thanatar Siege Automata – 250
LoW – Knight Paladin (Occular Augmetics) – 385
Total – 1850
So it’s probably not the leanest/meanest of lists going, I really didn’t want to take the Knight but I won’t have the time to build and paint any more units to fill out the points. It’s got plenty of high toughness models with lots of wounds and plenty of firepower being thrown out, not sure how I’m going to go about killing Spartan Assault tanks or dealing with flyers though, I suppose I’ll find out on the day…
I really wanted to take poison round on the Vorax but the points just aren’t there, the two Rotor Cannons on each Vorax should be enough to hurt most MEQ enemy units.
Also keen to see how the Thanatar goes in game, seeing as the model is so imposing and with it’s massive shoulder mounted Plasma Mortar!
What else is going on around here
Well with the West Australian Master event coming up in three very short weeks I’ve been really busy writing and play testing some lists and now I’ve pretty much settled on what I want to take, just need to find time to finish building and painting it. Which is going to be hard after next week seeing as the new Betrayal at Calth box set drops!
Massaen, myself and plenty of others have also been painting and prepping lots of terrain for the event to, some of it is really looking good! Massaen has also given me a sneak peak of some of the prizes for the event too…wow! Theirs so much cool stuff!
Stay tuned for more updates on that soon…
As for me, it’s back to painting
