Project – Chaos Reaver Titan

Project – Chaos Reaver Titan

I have a slight obsession with 40k super heavy toys – the Titan in 28mm scale is truly awesome to behold. They are also usually in the Aeldari form… but not this time!

Recently I posted a poll on what should be my next project… and I was not sure either way as to which would be worse! 147 votes later and I had my answer! But how did I get the Reaver Titan to begin with? Read on!

If you have been listening to our live streams or pod casts in the last couple of weeks, you will know that Emma mad a massive blunder live on our Facebook stream (the we do every second Wednesday) and said it would be ok for me to buy another titan.

Is it coincidence that 48 hours later a local got in touch and offered me the deal of lifetime on a brand new in bags Forgeworld Reaver Titan? I don’t think so!

A quick trip out in the car saw me come home with a very large box…

That plastic tub is big – 15 inches wide, 21 inches long and 12 inches deep!

After opening the bags it became quickly apparent that they had been mixed up and I would have to sort through all the parts and lay it all out to make sure it was complete. 2 hours later I knew what I had!

The Chaos Reaver is a doozy. After going over the kit, the internal build seems a little easier than the loyal version thanks to integrated details rather than loose ones. Chaos details adorn it everywhere – I especially like the fact the crew are all now literally part of the behemoth!

Weapon wise, I had the Chaos Apocalypse Missile Rack for the carapace weapon and then 4 options for the arms – The Gatling Blaster, Claw, Laser Cannon and Melta Cannon. All in all very happy with those options. I do want to see about getting my hands on the Volcano Cannon and the Chainfist if possible though it looks like the Chainfist is now discontinued sadly.

Scale wise, the graphic below gives a pretty good indication of just how big this will be when finished. Its a monster – easily on par with the Eldar Phantom I have already and far more bulky!

Its going to take time to build and paint this – the fact I don’t have a colour scheme sorted for it is a problem for another day – but I want to show it off as I go right here and hopefully give some suggestions as I go for things I learn along the way.
