Episode 16: Taking one for the Team
With WATC 2018 now done and dusted, Mike and Emma discuss the event results and the data gathered from players on the day – 120 players and 4 games in a single day gives a healthy amount of information for future events and planning!
We check out the correlation to the number of turns played vs player experience, the average number of turns played and just how many games reach natural endings vs those who end up being stung by the clock when the pressure is on. We look at the top 5 players from the event as well as just a fraction of how much work Mikes own team put in to get their team onto the podium (hint – Mike did way less then he should have!)
Mike also finally bit the bullet and ordered some cool new hobby supplies from a couple of different places – these aren’t freebies for us, we paid for them ourselves – but the results of the tests are promising! You can find Greenstuff World and Anarchy Models websites linked below if you want to try out these products yourself!
Did you attend WATC? What horror stories or tales of heroism did you see? Have you played at an event and just not finished games or did you hang around for an hour bored? There is so much variation in every event, we know you have stories so why not tell us your stories – we want to hear from you!
