Episode 74: Oh, It’s Good to be Back

Good to be Back

Tony Stark really does say it best – Oh, it’s good to be back! At the time of recording we are both tired, worn out but also a little elated to be back running events here in Western Australia. It’s strange in some ways to be hosting players again – its been more than a little while since we did – but at the same time, the excitement of a new edition and seeing the community again was amazing.

We now have a bunch of data from the first few events we can share with fellow players, 129 games is still a small sample size – about one quarter of round one of LVO this year infact! – but it’s a start, and the numbers are looking very positive.

We chat about what these numbers mean, average game times, average turns per player as well as scores for winning and losing, chances of winning going first or second and more. You can check out the lists for War Calls for Day 1 and Day 2 by clicking on the links.

Day 1 War Calls

We also delve into some of the forth coming releases like the new starter sets and paint sets for 9th edition. You should also check out Custom Gaming Tables if you live in WA – we had one on display at War Calls for both days and our own table should be ready to host players very shortly.

Day 2 War Calls

While Western Australia seems to be on the mend, we want to make sure you are all looking after yourselves during this trying quarantine period – if you need help from more than your present support network (and are in Western Australia) you can contact Beyond Blue (1300 22 46 36), Life line (131 114) or Crisis Care (089223 1111). If you are outside of Western Australia we really encourage you checking out your local provider of mental health via your preferred search engine.

Have you played your first full game of Warhammer 40,000 9th edition yet? What was your favourite change? How did you find the transition from 8th over to the new age of 9th? We would love to hear about your experiences and hear your feedback on this – we want to hear from you!
