Well, I got some more glue and finished the skull keep! Its a beast now its done – perfect for a chaos bastion in 40k if I am honest!
As you can see its almost exactly the right width and height – the triangular shape might be an issue but in reality, I doubt its a big deal. The top section went together much easier than the rest up until that point.
Then I decided to do the Malefic Gate… What a terrible kit to build. I am fast coming to loath the china cast GW terrain. It never fits neatly, requires way more clean up than should be necessary and does not seem to bond well regardless of the glue used.
I got it done but after 3 hours work – its a chore to build…
I will point out this pic only has half of it in as I was that fed up with the kit by the end I could not be bothered making room to shoot it so the whole kit could be seen!
If I am honest… I really wanted to be cleaning up my new box of forgeworld goodies that arrived today…
The Gal Vorbak marines are massive! As you can see, the regular plastic marine is close, but the FW model is a head taller regardless. I really want to paint these guys but need to keep myself on track… Going to start the overlord bastion tomorrow but that’s going to be a 2 night job I suspect. I guess the Gal Vorbak might have to be a weekend treat for me!
