Episode 71: Doing it for the Kids

Episode 71: Doing it for the Kids

In episode 70 we talked about some of the mental, physical and emotional benefits of gaming but we also mentioned that kids get a lot from it as well – and here we are to talk just that! Learning is a constant process throughout our lives so make no mistake, the benefits we talk about in this episode apply to all gamers!

We should take a second to mention the Warhammer Alliance program and the opportunity it presents for teachers, scout leaders, parents and children – it’s a great way to kick of gaming in your local community. There is also plenty of information and resources you can use to launch a club of your own. There are even tournaments in the UK for the program!

With the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 just around the corner we take a moment to chat about the Indomitus Box that will be hitting shelves in July as well as the previewed next step models shown on Warhammer TV live on twitch. Mike is super excited for 9th and we hope to have a bunch of articles and content for you all soon.

We want to make sure you are all looking after yourselves during this trying quarantine period – if you need help from more than your present support network (and are in Western Australia) you can contact Beyond Blue (1300 22 46 36), Life line (131 114) or Crisis Care (089223 1111). If you are outside of Western Australia we really encourage you checking out your local provider of mental health via your preferred search engine.

Do you have kids who are looking to game? Had you considered some of the (many) benefits for them when it comes to gaming? We would love to hear about your experiences and hear your feedback on this – we want to hear from you!
